Building the character using fashion and facial expressions. I took inspiration for Wes Anderson’s ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’ movie, the quirkiness in the characters physicality – as the rigid and playful movements form the fantastic mr fox , was inspiring to me. So  to get into the quirky mood, I went to a vintage store to try on a bow tie.  This is where I made the link with my gender euphoria and my fox character, I was creating a character that made me feel free and happy in my skin. The androgynous look brought the character to life, giving me excitement to play.

“A play with fire. play me” , this playful experimentation was to connect my body to the inner animal, by using the earth to ground me and get my hands dirty. I had resistance in this exploration as I was feeling silly, acting like a fox in a public park in the center of berlin, who would have thought?  Part of my journey in the process was becoming less self conscious. I was inspired  by the by ‘becoming animal’ book by David Abram.  Getting the face of the fox was important for me, if the eyes are fox like, the audience will believe it. I learnt this from Maria’s class, embodying animals. Watching my on of my  peers act like  a rabbit, I could see in Andy’s eyes he was a rabbit. It was impressive to see the transformation.
